Here are a few tips Tips to Stay Motivated to Study During the Holidays

1. Set a schedule

The one thing that’ll keep you on track with your studies during holidays is being organized! A major part of that is setting a tight schedule and sticking to it. From day to day, week to week, write down what you want to get done and tick it off as you go. Don’t fall into the trap of trying to get ahead of yourself though, as once you do, that becomes the new norm and you’re always trying to stay ahead. Stick to what you’ve written down and enjoy the sense of accomplishment when you’re done.

2. Take a break

It’s really important to follow a schedule but it’s also really important to schedule breaks too. Too much work will lead to burnout, information not going in and you falling asleep whilst you study. Do the latter and you might just draw all over yourself! But don’t stress about that as once you know how to remove pen stains from clothes it’s easy. As for breaks, it’s really important to get up and walk about often and take a complete day off every now and then. Pop it in the schedule and it can be completely guilt free.

3. Study with friends

Working in groups is a proven way of studying effectively, as you can bounce ideas of each other and discuss what you’re writing down. Both verbal and written study techniques back each other up and consolidate the information that you’re trying to hold on to. Also, it’s good to be with people who are going through the same thing as you, and knowing that you’re not the only one who’s studying during the holidays.

4. Reward yourself

Study can be hard work and that’s reason enough to reward yourself often. Whether it’s at the end of the day, end of the week or at the end of a particular module of study, celebrate it. It might be a few hours out with friends, watching a movie or enjoying your favorite sweet treat. The fact is that positive reinforcement like this can help you stay motivated and focused for the next study session.

5. Keep the end goal in sight

Finally, always keep the end goal in sight. Write down your aims and motivations on a piece of paper and pin it up somewhere you can see easily. That way you’ll have a constant reminder of why you’re working so hard. It’s also a great way of remembering that this period will be over soon and you can get back to enjoying life again… motivation in itself!

Implement these tips and good luck with your studies!
