Independence day Celebration

Har Ghar Tiranga

It is rightly said by – John F. Kennedy that
“Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

S.V.P.T’s Saraswati Vidyalaya, G.B Road, Thane, celebrated Independence from 2nd to 15 th August 2025 with great patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. This program was a vibrant blend of tradition, creativity, and engagement, designed to nurture patriotism, historical understanding, and community spirit among students. Children from all grades participated in a variety of cultural, creative, and educational activities, culminating in the grand Independence Day celebration.

Students of class 6th crafted vibrant, spinning pinwheels using saffron, white, and green paper embodying the Indian national flag and nurturing a lively, patriotic atmosphere across the school. The spinning pinwheels infused classrooms with joy and enthusiasm.

Students of class IX were encouraged to explore symbols, slogans, and events significant to India’s freedom struggle and make colourful charts.Tricolour Rakhi Making Activity was held for the class VIII students. It was a Raksha Bandhan celebration with a patriotic twist. During this celebration, under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, Senior House Rangoli Competition was held in school. It deepened the understanding of Indian traditions and heritage through hands-on participation of the students.

As part of this nationwide campaign, our school organized a vibrant rally to instill the spirit of patriotism and to raise awareness about the significance of the Indian National Flag. The rally saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and staff, helping to spread the core message of the campaign in the surrounding community. Students dressed as national heroes, carrying the Indian National Flag and customized banners, and plugcards displaying patriotic slogans and messages, marched through local streets, singing patriotic songs and shouting slogans such as "Har Ghar Tiranga,” "Bharat Mata Ki Jai," and "Jai Hind.”

School also conducted a special "Letter Writing to Soldiers" activity. Students from various classes penned heartfelt letters to the brave men and women of the Indian Armed Forces. This activity helped to instil patriotism, gratitude, and creative skills in our students. It enabled them to connect personally with the defenders of the nation, making Independence Day celebrations truly memorable.

The “Selfie with Tiranga” activity was also conducted and it was a grand success, instilling patriotism and providing a joyful medium to celebrate our beloved Tricolor by students, parents, and staff. Students clicked selfies with the Tricolour hoisted at their homes and posted on www.harghartiranga.com.

The school boards were transformed with creative patriotic themes using handmade crafts, tricolour borders, and portraits of freedom fighters by the students. These decorations brightened classrooms, corridors, and entrances, creating a unified and festive atmosphere that radiated national pride.

Students also actively participated in the “Har Ghar Tiranga Quiz 2025” which was organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with MyGov.

To mark the celebration of India’s 79th Independence Day, the students of Class VII organized a thoughtfully planned assembly focusing on the theme Chains To Wings The assembly took place in the school auditorium and was attended by students, teachers, and staff, creating an atmosphere of reverence and patriotism.
