The first edition of Oxford English Mini Dictionary was published in 1981. A dictionary is a book where we get to find the meaning of any particular word. When I was small, I used to ask my mother to tell the meanings of each and every word which I hear. But now I use the dictionary to find meanings; whenever I am in school or at home.
In dictionary, the words are arranged in an alphabetical order. Along with the meanings, we get to know whether the particular word is Adjective, noun or verb. It also tells the synonym of any particular word.
When I want to find a word – “SMELL”. So I will go in “S” page and find the word “smell”. For that first, I will find the letter “sm” and when I find I will find the letter “sme”; I would continue the same process to find the meaning.
In this way, we can get meanings of the difficult words by using Dictionary. So please buy any dictionary to increase your word power and vocabulary.
